To commemorate the International Green Building Week, interested guests are welcome to explore ten buildings during the event taking place between September 11 and 15. Participants in the “Green Walk” program can choose from five locations out of the ten, allowing as many as possible to peek behind the scenes of environmentally-conscious buildings during the guided tours. This year, curious visitors had the opportunity to visit the ACADEMIA Office Building, which will open its doors on September 28th.
Mindful thinking is particularly crucial in the construction industry and the real estate sector, as commercial buildings account for 37 percent of the total carbon footprint. The series of programs launched simultaneously on multiple continents as part of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) initiative aims to draw attention to these issues through practical examples, workshops, professional discussions, and thematic tours while offering solutions in practice for a more environmentally conscious future. The renewed ACADEMIA, which implements the latest and greenest technologies, serves as a perfect example in this endeavor, showcasing the commitment to these principles.
“It’s our pleasure that ACADEMIA has been featured among other exceptional buildings such as the MOL Campus, the Szervita Square Building, Liberty, and the Hungarian Music House” expressed Csaba Zeley , the Managing Director of ConvergenCE, the developer of ACADEMIA. “We greatly appreciate all feedback that shows our ideas, whether on the drawing board or during execution, have been paired with good decisions and adhere to the latest and most advanced trends. In all our buildings and projects, we place special emphasis on green concepts, protecting our environment, and consciously building our future. Thanks to this commitment, ACADEMIA, which has been prioritizing sustainability from the beginning, will become the first renovated building in Hungary to receive WELL certification. We are grateful for being part of this excellent initiative , and in the future, we will continue to strive for ConvergenCE’s name to be paired with the reconstructed greenest office buildings in Hungary .”
