Located in the heart of Budapest, the ACADEMIA office building is officially approaching the end of its renovation. The building was awarded the ‘Future Project of the Year’ at the CRE Real Estate Awards event held in late 2022, seamlessly combining tradition with modern technologies, and ensuring a top-quality work environment from August onward.
High-Tech in ACADEMIA
The 12,500 m2 office building has recently undergone a complete transformation, and today it welcomes tenants and guests with innovative solutions and a wide range of possibilities. On the occasion of ACADEMIA’s renewal, the developer set the goal of promoting the physical and mental well-being of employees working in the building and creating the highest possible level of professional working environment.
The execution of the ideas was envisioned with BUILDEXT, which provided unique architectural and interior design solutions in the region, equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
In the meantime, the complex has obtained the WiredScore-Gold certification and soon it will proudly boast popular green certifications in the real estate sector, such as BREEAM, WELL, and Access4you.
Lobbies in Full Splendor
The Danube riverside lobby located in the classical wing has been refitted with new flooring and wall coverings, while the ceiling received a custom-made copper-colored covering. The air handling system has been upgraded and new energy efficient LED lighting has been installed. Soon visitors will be able to admire the artworks of graduates from MOME (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design) in the reception area.
The new reception desks and access gates equipped with the latest technology have been installed in both wings. The two lobby areas will be merged, creating a much more spacious and modern space, and all building services will be accessible to tenants from both wings.
The Modern Wing Lobby has Undergone a Complete Renovation
The lobby facing Akadémia Street received the same flooring as the traditional side, while the conference room was separated from the lobby area by a glass wall. This further expands the range of services offered by the building.
The audiovisual technology for the conference room is currently being installed and will be operational starting from early June. This means that for meetings and events with a capacity of 12 to 60 people, ACADEMIA’s clients will have access to the latest conference and meeting technology.
In line with sustainability, the developer preserved the original limestone tiles, which were reinstated during the renovation.
Parking on Two or Four Wheels
The developer took care of the complete renovation of the underground parking garage, with a greater emphasis on modern solutions and technology.
- New rapid entrance gates and a license plate recognition system are helping to facilitate easier access to and management of the underground parking garage.
- Energy efficient LED lighting, epoxy resin flooring and painting work on the four basement levels complete the transformation.
- Dedicated changing rooms and secure bicycle storage facilities are available to cyclists, further enhancing the convenience of employees commuting on two wheels.
Innovations from Top to Bottom
Elevators in both wings have been renovated, featuring digital displays integrated into the mirrors. Upon reaching the top floor via the elevator, a noticeable innovation is the installation of a heat pump on the roof (link).
